diagramThis workshop will define basic terminology and basic elements related to I&C and Electrical drawings for Pump Stations (PSs) and Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs). By the end of this training, you’ll re-live the childhood exhilaration of finding a decoder ring at the bottom of your cereal box. Attend the Operations 201 track Thursday afternoon to put workshop learning into practice.

● PCW3: OPS: NUTRIENT REMOVAL PROCESS TROUBLESHOOTING FROM START-UP THROUGH ASSET LIFE (FEE)

icons3

nutrientAs facilities transition from secondary treatment to nutrient removal, the operational strategy and philosophy changes. Adopting process controls that incorporate SRT control, sidestream management, and other controls are critical for reliable treatment. Attendees will gain insight into modern process controls, as well as guidelines for optimizing various operational parameters.

Facilitator: Scott Joslyn, HDR
Speakers: Kenneth Abraham, HDR; Jeff Cooley, City of Vacaville; Sidney Innerebner, Indigo Water Group and Dustin Valiquette, City of Manteca

● PCW4: PROCESS CONTROL ANALYZERS: JOURNEY-LEVEL TRAINING ON PROCESS CONTROL ANALYZERS USED IN THE WATER AND WASTEWATER INDUSTRIES (FEE)

icons4

The vendor-neutral training for those who need to understand the principles of operation of modern process analyzers in order to competently specify the most appropriate technology and installation constraints. Emphasis on the ‘Total Cost of Ownership’ for each of the presented analyzer technologies, since use of these online analyzers is becoming necessary with permits requiring reduced nutrient discharges limits.

Facilitator: Dennis Lambert, Rodeo Sanitary District
Speakers: Charles Aycock, Municipal Automation Services; Bob Dabkowski, Hach Company; Tracy Doane, Endress+Hauser, Inc.; Steve Smith, Endress+Hauser, Inc.; and Melody White, Hach Company
